Cultural Fusion

Most families’ standard-sized wardrobes become completely filled by the end of the first year after they move into the new home. Building custom-built storage space which includes extending to the top of the ceiling, incorporating a built-in dressing area, and accommodating the increased number of clothes during summer months takes thoughtful planning prior to raising the ceiling.

Typically referred to as flat interior design in Bangladesh, single-floor residential units are those contained within multi-story buildings and represent the predominant form of residential development in Dhaka. For flat design, priority considerations relate to making limited square footage appear expansive; addressing storage needs across linear plans; and creating discrete zones within either an open or semi-open configuration.
